What My Houseplants Taught Me About Real Estate
I was watering my houseplants and noticed something I had never really paid attention to before. Almost every single plant was leaning toward the windows. Even the plants that started out straight had slowly turned themselves over time so their leaves were facing the sunlight.
It’s kind of fascinating, really (just me?). Plants naturally grow toward the light. They just keep adjusting themselves little by little until they’re facing the thing that helps them grow.
It made me think about people, because we actually do something very similar. We tend to lean toward certain things for a reason. Certain people, certain places, certain businesses. The ones that seem to sustain us. The ones that make things feel a little easier to understand.
When someone starts thinking about buying a home or selling their house, they usually lean toward the person who feels like a light in that process. The person who shows up consistently, shares helpful information, and makes the whole experience feel calmer and more manageable.
That’s always been my hope with my business. Not to chase attention or constantly shout about real estate, but to simply show up in a way that makes people feel comfortable coming to me when the time is right. To be someone people naturally think of when a real estate question pops up or when they start dreaming about a move.
Because just like those plants leaning toward the sun, people tend to move toward the things that feel lighter and brighter. And if you ever find yourself leaning my direction when it comes to real estate, I’m always here to help light the way (see what I did there?!)
