The Reddit Thread That Opened My Eyes

I should not be on real estate Reddit at 10pm. I know this about myself.

But there I was, and I came across a thread where someone was asking whether they even needed an agent to buy a house. And the comments were…

Well, some were fair, honestly. There are agents out there who treat a transaction like a transaction and move on to the next one. Who don’t return calls, don’t explain what’s actually happening, and make their clients feel like a commission check with a name attached.

And I get why people are frustrated. I would be too.

But here’s what kept me up.

The people in that thread who had the worst experiences weren’t failed by the industry. They were failed by one person who wasn’t paying attention. And they deserved better.

I can’t fix every experience someone has had before they found me. But I can make sure that the person who works with me never has a story like that to tell.

If you’re thinking about buying or selling and you’re nervous about trusting someone with something this big, that’s exactly why you should reach out (or forward this to a friend). You deserve to work with someone who loses sleep over doing this right.
