Making Big Decisions in the Midst of Real Life

by Ally Richardson

Does this sound familiar? On any regular night, someone is asking for a snack they will not eat. Someone else is yelling from another room like they live alone in this house. Your phone is buzzing with emails and texts you need to answer “real quick.”

Dinner is a question mark. Your brain is…pudding.

And somehow, in the middle of all of that, you’re expected to make good decisions about very big things.

We love to picture big life moments as calm and clear and well thought out. Like you’ll sit down with a cup of coffee, fully rested, no distractions, and say, “Yes, now I will thoughtfully decide what’s next for our family.”

That is just NOT how it goes (at least for me anyway!?)

Real life decisions get made in the car line. Or while you’re reheating coffee for the third time and answering a question you’ve already answered four times.

And yet…

Buying a home. Selling a home. Making a move. Staying put. These are not small, tidy decisions made in still, zen sanctuaries. They’re made in the middle of life, dinner and all.

Which is why I care so much about how I show up for my clients.

Because I know you’re not coming to me from a perfectly curated life. You’re coming to me from your real life.

The one with schedules and kids and work and dishes and a brain that’s holding 47 tabs open at all times…and you deserve someone who can meet you there and guide you home in the midst of it all.

So if you’ve ever thought, “I don’t even know how I’d fit moving into my life right now…” I get it.

If and when you’re ready, I’ll be here to help you think it through, walk it out, and make it feel a whole lot less overwhelming than it does in your head.

You can send me an email, text me from the car pick up line, or even ask to meet for lunch in between errands. I’m totally a professional but I’m also a regular degular human who gets it.
